OK, we recently got 3 buff ducklings that are 4 days old today. One of them has a very distinct "quack" instead of a "peep!" Is this normal? Is it a breed thing? Should I be concerned? They all seem very healthy and happy. We also have 10 one-week-olds, but we're keeping the two groups separated for now until the little ones get a bit bigger.

Well that's odd lol any chance of a video? i have some that we got a week ago, they were 1-3 days old, they were sexed girls they peep like my other mallard derived at that aging(calls)

I'll try to capture a video today if I can...gotta charge the camera battery! This one's definitely going to be named "quackers" how could we not?

LOl! sounds perfect! I'll look for the video later on.

OK, I got a video of "Quackers!" Here he/she is doing his/her thing :) It's kind of a peep-quack.

Anybody have any ideas? The quacking is getting more pronounced. It almost sounds like the poor thing is hoarse!

If it continues on like this as it grows, maybe you can name it Joan Rivers?
