I was wondering if anyone would know if it would be ok to keep quail and chickens in the same coop. I was wanting to make sure they wouldnt pass any diseases to each other. I am considering getting bobwhite or courtnix.

Chickens are much to large for quail and can kill them. Disease transfer is a huge issue between the two species. Quail need their own quarters away from the chickens.

You would need to fumigate the entire thing. Scrub it down, bleach it, repaint it, everything you can do to kill off all bacteria's that might be laying in wait for moisture. But yes, you can keep them in any enclosure. Chicken coops are fine.

It would take a lot of work to clean it up from having chickens in it, you would be better off to build a rabbit hutch style enclosure out away from the shed, that way you start new and do not have to worry about bio-security issues. JMHO
