How heat tolerant are quail? I live near San Antonio Texas and it could get to 100 plus a bunch of days in July and August. I have my first hatch in the brooder ready to go outside in a week or so.

Shade cloth and lots of water. They run out of water and they're toast.

They did fine...... now we had bad storms and electricitys out and i have chicks hatching and chicks freezing in the brooder piling up... can win here

Yeah be aware that running out of water will kill any bird quick. They can drink incredible amounts of water compared to their usual schedule.

Hey Sniper, it's not the best option but you can get a big pack of handwarmers and those will last 8-10 hrs usually when the power is out.

im an hour and a half west of SA... mine have been living so far
