Quail and hiding?

Hi. As some of you may know I only have one male quail left. In his house he has a small second story room. Today I went out around ten minutes ago and it was pretty chilly but even in the cold whether he rarely goes up there. It surprised me because when he heard me he didn’t come down either. Should I be worried that something is wrong or am I worrying for nothing?

I would check on him. Any time an animal changes its routine, you should check.

Okay thank you! I currently put a tarp around his cage to shield him from the coldness a bit. Hopefully that works for something.
