Beautiful chicks and eggs! What a cute stuffed quail toy you have in there-I've been looking around locally for a stuffed chicken toy for my chicks after they hatch.

Thanks everyone!! Yes they are awesome/cute little things arent they!?!
Heres the tally as stands right now....

6 eggs due friday....4 hatched

15 eggs due sat-today...1 hatched, 8-9 pipped

How long does it take quail eggs to hatch???

Depends greatly on species but Cortunix take 16-18 days to hatch.

Were the two chicks fighting at the end of the video???

Are you talking about the egg hatching video?
And no his yolk wasnt fully developed and it was still in the egg. So he was getting yanked back when he pulled.

OMG Sam, you've figured out the fastest and bestest! Thanks for sharing:D

Neighbors in Sterling, tell hubby you have a safety catch, a backup plan! Send any over flow (and not ice either!) from Sam, that is, up here to Nome...don't forget me now...promise?!? If its any incentive, my Pilgrim pair are setting on eggs right now...we could keep that in mind...Huh??? Cheryl

LOL are you trying to ask for birds and or hatching eggs?? OOO Pilgrim geese...hehehe

Hi Cheryl! You bet... hubby was just asking me today what we were going to do with overflow quail...

Now I know what to tell him! Oh lawsy... I don't know if I could do geese. We've got chickens, quail, ducks, and turkeys on the way with more chicks this coming weekend... I think I'm done with new species of birds for now. But we can certainly work out something with the quail!

OMG, Sam... that is so wonderful that you caught that on tape! It's so fast!!! How long had they pipped before they actually busted out? I have some "practice" quail eggs coming Wednesday or Thursday... do you mind if I call on your expertise if the situation arises?
