I tried to read down thru all the posts to make sure my question has not already been asked and answered .
I'm new to raising quail . I have 1 Roo 5 hens (two white hens and three brown coturnix) when I recieved them all as adults the one hen had a "bump " under her beak , it feels and looks like it's a growth of actual beak , not fleshy . She ate fine and acted alright , so I didn't think much of it. Now she is squinty eyed, fluffed feathers , still eating and drinking good , but now has what I would call " scale " on top of her beak . Like crumbles or buildup different than the bump on bottom. I have been researching symptoms and trying to figure it out , so as to treat her. Maybe I'm looking at two different issues? The bump and the illness? Or think both connected ? Sorry for poor description of issues . ANY advice is welcome . Thank you
