Hatching is tough, because you usually need to keep coturnix in a ratio of at least 1 male to 3 females, sometimes 1 to 5, or they get overbred, stressed and injured. If you keep more than 1 male in a small space, they are likely to fight. Alternatively you could just keep hens.Looking for 2 or 3 quials to hatch. How many eggs would you recommend?
Id suggest asking the few people who were nice enough to tell u there in the uk and ask them were they got there's from and if it was a good place to get them fromThanks. My daughter is 12
Thanks. We have the incubator etc all set up . Just looking for which breed eggs to get. Looking for 2 or 3 quials to hatch. How many eggs would you recommend? Imguessing not all hatch
I'm super interested, what does hand raising entail for precocial birds? Mine were scared of being handled after probably less than a week despite interacting with them several times a day from hatching. Now I can't pick them up at all (once a week to clean their enclosure) without a long fight and I don't like stressing them out like that.
