QUAIL CAN’T PEEP

hello there! i’ve been getting a little bit concerned with an issue with one of my quails. She is a female, i believe 8 week old quail and can’t seem to peep. I feel like i have heard her peep before but it’s hard to tell. Today i gave them some water while they were running around because it didn’t look like they were drinking the water inside their house, i was just watching them sip at the water when i noticed that she would open her mouth big after every sip and try and peep. Every once and a while she made a very soft peep or a scratchy noise. I felt her crop and around her neck and on one side of her breast is a firm lump. I’m not sure what this is and i haven’t seen anything like it. It may just be because she hasn’t drank in a while, has anyone else had a problem like this? Thanks!

I have quail that don't peep ever. I wouldn't be concerned with the quail not making noise.

Can you get a picture of the waterer that you use inside their cage?

I'm not sure I entirely understand the problem. Can you post a video of her?
