Hey guys, we just started raising quails. We have had an issue with some baby quails lasting 2-3 days and then they have a hard time staying upright. They will lie on their backs and kick their feet. If they get up they wobble around and will eventually die. Out of roughly 24-30 new quails we have had around 5-7 do this.
The bedding is a pine bedding, we have a heat lamp but I don’t think it’s too cold or hot as they don’t huddle in corners or directly under the lamp. I grind their food up so it’s easy to eat and keep fresh water every half hour or so.
Any advice or possible cures would be much appreciated.
