I've been following this thread and am excited because my 15 jumbo mix eggs came today. i have 28 chickens. I hatched 21,so I am not knew at hatching shipped eggs. Just hatching quail eggs.
The quail eggs are resting now and I'll start them tomorrow in the incubator. The breeder sent 23 eggs with a guaranty that it I don't get a 50% hatch on the number purchased he will reship. I have never seen that with chicken eggs.
I love hatching eggs. My daughter just asked me to hatch some Ameracuana bantams for her for Christmas. She does bantams and all but 3 of mine are large birds. That is a Christmas present we both can enjoy.

How many birds are together? What is the total area of the pen, what are the genders?

How big is the box? I think the issue is that you need more space and a better ratio of males to females. You should have 1 male for 4-5 females. They need some space to be able to get away from each other and some hides or they will fight for the best or favorite spot.
