Quail Class

She is likely getting bullied because the space could be too small or there might not be enough hiding spots. Quail need at least 1 square foot of space for each bird, and even then I feel that it is too small (just my opinion, do as you wish) so my birds have 2+ square feet per each bird.

Add multiple hiding spots for each bird or another level to help out with the bullying. How many birds are in there? Adding things that can block the line of sight let the birds who are lower in the pecking order hide.

What is your male to female ratio? Too many males can overmate one female. I think the proper ratio is 1 male to 5-6 females, correct me if I'm wrong. If it is just 1 to 1, I think they need more space and more females, again, please correct me if I'm wrong.

I hope she is ok! Good luck!

Also, the clear top of the cage might lead her to believe that it is open so she thinks she can escape. I had this problem with my girls' skylight, so I put some bark from a dead tree over it and they are chill now. I bet you can put a towel or something over the top to prevent this, but not over the sides so they can have light.

Hi friends, don't think I've been here since Saturday!
Anywho, I have an egg, it's about 3 days old, anyways, I haven't incubated it (didn't plan on it ) but I decided to candle it just now, and it is pitch dark, not fully dark.. but no activity.. it is just grey like it is just shell, the whole egg. I can't even see a yolk.

That happens sometimes, I had one I couldn’t see in the whole time I incubated, it was normal inside, but didn’t develop.

Could it be that there's a dark spot on the egg blocking it? That happened to me for my eggs that are due this week.

You can't tell if an egg is fertile by candling unless you incubate it. I know I've said this before. Some shells are dark and hard to see through, so you might not be able to see anything.

Why do you expect activity in an egg that hasn't even started to develop?

I did not expect any activity, just trying to give details, because I was confused.
