Quail constantly calling

Hello all! I’m new to this website, but now that I have a pet quail to take care of I think it would be best if I get an account,

I have a Buttonquail at home, I don’t know how old he is but he’s definitely not an adult I would say teenager maybe?

As of recently he’s been very vocal and constantly calling, I don’t house any other quails besides him because I don’t have space or the money to do.

does this constant calling mean that I should consider getting a partner quail? I know that an ideal situation is two females and a male, but untill then what should I do?

I would love to give him attention but he’s still afraid of me, any advice is great!!

Button quail are social creatures. He's calling for a mate. They do best in pairs, even same gender pairs will often do well.

It depends on the birds. Right now I have 8 button quail in two pens: 4 to a pen. They're all boys.

If there are no hens around, the chances of the males getting along goes way up.
