You are not going to know for sure what did it...Cages cannot be left outside where you are at because something comes at night and prowls around while you are sleeping and can climb or is tall enough to reach the cage.
Move the cage somewhere it is protected.

Yes next time i will put the cage in the kitchen.. Im going to get an identical one from the pet store hopefully no one notices
