Omg... Im gonna start crying.... I went to feed my little cousin's pet quail. And i found her cage absloutely DESTROYED! food everywhere.. BLOOD! everywhere here i start to lose it i went as fast as i can to see and was shocked... I saw the poor quail dead and her guts were out... There is a big hole in her back and blood is everywhere... HOW how on earth the cage is very enclosed and protective never had anything or any problems with any animal in this cage BUT JUST HOW? Heres the last picture i took of her

as you can see the cage is hanging and its fully protected with plastic on the outside and then mini metal mesh and then metal bars... HOOWWWWWWW Im gonna lose my mind 😭i came and found the poor quail... I really don't know what to say to my cousin... This quail was his birthday gift.. It hatched on his hands.. And shes very tame.. Now that he doesnt know what on earth will i do.... (notice: i saw a cat sitting beneath the cage) please help me..

I am soooo sorry. :hugs
Is the cage outside? I can't tell.
Raccoons would be capable of destroying a cage...cats or raccoons could both reach between the bars but a cat can't destroy a cage.
It will help to know where the cage is located and I'm assuming the crime was done at night.

Yes the cage is 4 feet high and protected with a lot of mesh and plastic for confort temperature for the chicks and i came and saw everything shredded apart.. And the cage was flipped and messed up and yes it was outside.. Hanging on the side of the stairs... Heres a old picture

there was also this cooler on the side which i removed a month ago...because i was not using it anyway so when i removed it all was left is the bars not the mesh or the plastic.. But still! If anything wants to reach into that it cant its too high! Heres the current cage 😢

after i fixed it a little the plastic is gone but the mesh is still there...

Because of raccoons, birds should not be left outside at night in a cage.
Most of us make our coops like Fort Knox for that very reason.
Raccoons can climb most anywhere, are very strong and they are everywhere and are capable of destroying most cages if there's something inside they want. ☹

I have been horrified a few times when they killed my chickens. It was devastating.

I dont think we have racoons i dont live in the us... I live in the middle east... Northen baghdad..

You are not going to know for sure what did it...Cages cannot be left outside where you are at because something comes at night and prowls around while you are sleeping and can climb or is tall enough to reach the cage.
Move the cage somewhere it is protected.
