Quail disease

I think one of my quail has quail disease. A few weeks ago one of my birds hit his head really badly in his cage so I put him in quarantine to keep a close eye on him. He was doing well but when I went on a short trip I left a friend to check on the birds. She didn't have much experience with quail but I had already left lots of food and water for them so she didn't need to do much other than check them to see how they are doing. She didn't know that the bird that hit his head had died and by the time I came home he had already been sitting there for a few days. I buried him the next morning (we came home at night) fast forward a week and one of my birds is acting sick. I think the one who died had it and was transported to another bird through flies going into the other cage. My quail is acting lethargic and has diarrhea, she won't eat or drink and has fluffed up feathers. I don't have the money to lay for a vet bill. The symptoms seem identical but I'm still unsure. I would have to treat her from home. What can I do to cure it?

I am guessing
1) the quarantined one died bc he was depressed/injured. Lone quail never really thrive.
and 2) the second one to die, died of an unrelated cause. It happens from time to time.
That's just my opinion. I am sorry about your quail!! :hugs
