I'm wondering if any of you have fed Zupreem or other small parrot/small bird pellets as a rare treat to your quail? I want to give something different to my girls, but I don't want to make them sick

I have parrots and feed them pellets I was wanting to feed my girls something I had at hand. Why small parrot/small bird pellets? I give my quail mealworms as a treat and they love them. It's part of their natural diet to begin with.

OOH! I should try that with my girls . Lord knows why the tiels don't eat all of their seed and pellets, LOL!I throw all the hulls that the budgies scatter out into the aviary for quail to clean up
Very true, regarding the protein levels. I was just thinking it as a once a week thing. And I need to pick up more spray millet. My birds love it!I believe both bird types are fond of millet. If you give the parrots millet, the quail will be happy to eat what falls down, just remember that whatever they eat of parrot snacks will affect the balance of nutrients they take in. If I’m not mistaken, most parrots would consume much less protein than quail, so it would be watering down the protein content to add more plants/grain heavy snacks.
My budgies love to share parsley and spinach with the Guinea pigsVery true, regarding the protein levels. I was just thinking it as a once a week thing. And I need to pick up more spray millet. My birds love it!
