Oh the poor dear hen.

I had one of my cots prolapse last week. Her eggs are usually 13-15 grams and she is only 12 weeks old. I never had it happen to such a young bird. She was fine the next day but I check on her every time I go outside expecting it to happen again.
 
This thread is making me want to bring a few hens inside. I've got a trio of white hens that were getting picked on no matter who I put them with so they are in a pen by themselves and growing back their feathers. They are very friendly so maybe I'll give it a go just so I can hear them.
