Quail egg swap

I used to have a quaker parrot when I lived in IN. Luckily my sister's cat was too lazy or too fat or just to uninterested in it. I cam home from work one day, and there's my parrot walking right in front of me, with the cat just sittling there looking at it! It was quite the escape artist!

How is your piggy doing Wendy? I think you're the one I pm'ed about my piggy the other day, but I could be wrong. I have cut back on my piggy's feed, and he acts like he is gonna starve to death! I was told (if not by you, then by whoever it was I pm'ed!) to feed him no more than a cup a day. He was probably getting about 3x's that amount. And boy does he look it!! He doesn't have the cute little piggy look anymore!

........my baby Dyson is sick right now..he asperiated his food yesterday(he eats like such a pig!)..heehe...i have to give him injections for 7 days..so, i'm keeping..

..that hes gonna be okay....about your piggys food..is he a full pot belly pig?..not mixed with a regular hog at all?..if he is a regular pot belly..then yes..only 1 cup of his pot belly pig food a day...(maybe dont cut him down to quickly though)...1/2 cup in the morning..1/2 at night..and about another cup of greens or such is good for him also...but, you dont wanna overfeed..or he'll get big fast..and be blind and wont be able to walk...i KNOW..i always feel bad about the amount!..like i'm starving them!,,LOL.. but thats how they ALL act though!...

.... so, again. its 1/2 cup am.. and 1/2 pm AND another cup of greens or something for his food for a day....good luck!...let me know if you need any more help!..also..try piginfoandchat...its a yahoo group..and they always give accurate and good advice..best of luck!, Wendy

I was told he was full. I didn't see the parents though, as I bought him at an auction. I have some pics of him...

He definitely got chunky fast! I have never had a potbelly before, so I was just feeding him what I thought was good!

Oh well, live and learn I guess.

I've owned two potbellies in my life, both were purebreds the sow was cute, pink with black spots she got aggressive when she hit around 5 (she lived much longer than that, i think 10 years, im not sure how long they normally live so she may have died young im not sure) years old and gored our goat kidd, so we found her a home with another potbelly big owner....the male we had I gave to my best friend, he only lived for about 4 years, he was obese last time i saw him and soon after died

I'm sure they fed him whatever.

Hillary the sow, I walked her a lot, she was harness trained we'd take her for walks almost everyday she stayed in rpetty good shape even though we fed her sweet feed and left overs, I thnk it's because she was kept active that she stayed in good body weight, in the winters we'd let her get a littel more fattened up though to keep warm....i'd love ot have one again and ofcourse i'd take way better care of one than we did with the two we used to have....for one I'd do research first, and i'd probably potty trainit and keep it indoors

hehe

my hubby really wants one but i know my mom would have a fit

I don't really think I could keep one inside! I know I can't now, living with my dad! But even when I do get my own place, I don't think I could. That would just be too weird!
I have never had a potbelly, and haven't been around a pig for years, but I remember feeding the regular hogs just whatever the hech we felt like. I knew that the potbellies should be restricted, but wasn't sure how much. Plus I got regular sow and pig feed for him, instead of the potbelly feed, since it was cheaper. He still has over half a bag of that!

He has gotten so used to being fed at certain times of the day, that the other day I went back to bed after taking my son to the bus. When I went out to feed it was like noon, and poor little Horton was in the bunny room squeeling at me every time he heard me move, or talk, heck breathe for all I know! He is finally taming down a lot, I can almost touch him! I would really like for him to be tame enough to let him out of his pen. Maybe I will make him a bigger one in the spring at least. He is inside the barn right now, but he is still only like 6 or 7 weeks old. He stays a lot warmer in the barn. He likes to burrow in the straw bedding that he has and get all snuggled up and comfy! Plus he has a lot of friends that come to see him. The guineas I had (that disappeared

) would hang out with him all the time, and I have a hen with 3 chicks that likes to go and scratch around in his pen. He only tries to get a taste of chicken every now and then!

Too bad he couldn't have kept his cute little baby face longer! He was so adorable when I first got him! He is still cute, but he is looking like a pig now!

As for potbellies in the house several people do it actually they are really smart and can potty train just like dogs (which is good cuz pig poo stinks) LOL! As long as i could teach it to potty train, and not root up my carpets, and teach it to get in the shower for a bath every now and then without protest (that'd be a hard one pigs love to protest lmao) I think it'd be fine. I'd want a bigger home for that though.

I also want a flemish giant in the house and name him "Tiny" i could get one anyday, but i want a flemie in my first home..nto here main reason being my mom would kick my bum! LOL!

edited to add if everyone knew every animal i plan/want to get when we finanlly get our first home...they'd probably think i was a lunatic ..maybe i aaaamm...
