Quail eggs are driving me mad!!

Found one site that said they can take up to day twenty five to hatch... I set 22 banty eggs and had three that are hatched and healthy... So I understand your frustration. I cant figure out what is wrong with my hatches either. 13 eggs died the last few days before hatch... :/

Oh ok i'll give them a lil longer to give the lil fella's a chance is there anything I should look for of any eggs that have gone bad without candling as I dont want to disturb them any more than I have to.

thanks for all ur info.

I've got 23 eggs 12 from person off ebay and 12 off person from ebay one of them broke in transit now I would be happy with a few hatching that would of done me the the least I expected.

Unless the eggs are weeping you cant tell from looking at the outside of them. You can still candle them.. It will just take a bit to get the humidity back up in the bator after. Just dont twist them around keep the up side up... the whole eggs should be black other than where the air sack is if they are fully developed. At this point I'd just give them a couple more days and if none hatch break a couple to see how far they developed.

cheers I dont think I could handle cracking them open I've got a bit of a weak stomach when it comes to stuff like that lol

I took your advice and candled about 5-6 of my eggs some look right others I'm not so sure so I put them back in any way so I'll keep waiting to see what happens.

They are producing their own heat now so they should be okay if not left for too long... I am going to revamp my bator and put in a two light system one a small 20 or so watt that stays on all the time and the other on the thermostat so that if one goes out I dont loose the whole batch. Im getting sick of temp issues with my bator.

I hatched out some buttons a couple of weeks back. Also my first time, it drove me freekin nuts! The buttons hatched a day or two later than I had expected. When they did hatch, they came all at once. I had gotten mine button eggs off ebay and with good results. This hatching stuff makes you want to jump right in and help them out but it is best to let it be. Hope you get some to hatch.
