So...I don't know much about harvesting eggs, but I was just wondering:

1. If you're harvesting eggs for consumption, do they go directly to the refrigerator?
2. How long are they good for? (I just usually buy eggs at the store...and go by the exp. date

I guess that's it. Thanks for any help!

My thought of thinking is like this, if you can keep quail eggs out for a week, and put them in the incubator and they still hatch, then my train of thought is that if that's the case then keeping an egg out for a week and then putting it in the fridge as an edible egg shouldn't be any different. I've heard of people storing thier eggs up to a month...and actually eggs that you buy from the store are in some cases already amonth old according to what i've read here on BYC! LOL

if put in the frige right away they should last 4-5 months, at least chicken eggs do. Mine never stay that long though lol

Thanks for the info...I guess its a good idea to date the individual eggs if you're not producing a lot then.

Thanks!

I save them up for a week (I only have one quail) then hard boil them or fry them up for dh and myself. Delicious and soooo cute sunny side up.
