QUAIL ESCAPE

The escapees will return if no predators get to them before they make it back to the pen. You can put a bird trap out by the pen to recapture them when they return.
I just had a quail escaped, looked for him for an hour, but nothing. He did jump over a fence, but he is still on our property (most likely) as he couldn’t run that far...do you think he will jump over the fence and come back?

Extremely unlikely. I hate to say this, but something will probably eat him.
Yeah...we have snakes, hawks, vultures, etc. I and hoping for the best though :) I just put 2 of his friends in a crate near where I last say him..,I hope this is going to have a happy ending

Unlikely. Out of more than two dozen (yes, yes, I got bad luck with these dang birds) that have gotten out of their cage and actual room in the barn, I have gotten 3 back, only one of which survived overnight from stress.

Yesterday night he did not come back, but today morning he came right back to his home! I am so glad! we found out he dug a hole and escaped...need some patchwork to do, but otherwise I am sure he is in shock...will treat the entire flock with mealworms later...
:( well, i am still hoping for the best...

Thanks for the info! I am so glad no predator got to him :)

I'm so glad to hear that he came home safely. He is one lucky bird!
