Quail feet questions

Hi all, hoping some of the more experienced quailers can confirm that this is bumblefoot?

First two pictures included for reference - they are two different quail who I think have it.

I have researched everything I can about bumblefoot so I’m happy to treat, just want some reassurance that is actually what’s wrong.There’s a photo of the beech wood chips they’re on as I worry this may be causing it? They have been on sand but they kick it everywhere

I also have one quail with a swollen toe - does anyone have any idea what it is? It doesn’t seem to hurt her, even when I examine it, but she’s quite nervous so might just be not showing it. Pic included.

Also, when I was taking these photos I noticed the male’s vent is looking swollen - is this normal or should I be concerned? Pic included.

Yes, that looks like bumblefoot.

I agree, it looks like bumblefoot. The male's vent looks normal to me. They get a pretty big bulge as they mature.

Thanks I can, I’ve just been experimenting recently to find what they like best. They so far like this best as they can scratch around easily in it, and they make little dips to sleep in.
I’ll buy in some compost and try it - is there anything I should look for/look out for when buying?

It could be if there are splinters in there. Look for something without chemicals added and soft.
