quail food for chickens??

A neighbor I have used to raise quail and has some feed left over and was kind enough to give it me to feed my chickens.

My question to yall is the obvious "can chickens eat quail food?" now he don't know what brand or type or anything.

It is grey in color and is crumbles.... Don't know anything other than that.

If it is gamebird starter/grower, then I would say yes, it should be fine. Not as an all-time diet but if you feed it for a short time or mix it in with your other feed, I don't think it will cause any issues.
