Quail hatch along! (with my own bodyheat)

Since it did not pip into the air cell and has not broken through the membrane yet should I worry about it suffocating??
Still nothing with the second egg.

I just woke up and the crack looks exactly the same.... still not even through the membrane

I truly can't even tell whether that's a pip or just a crack. But it is kind of suspicious that I've managed this long without cracking them and on hatch day that shows up. Should I try the float test or something or just wait it out? I'm just worried if that is trying to be a pip if the baby is suffocating becuase it's not in the air cell.

I would not do a float test on any eggs that have cracks

Some would probably highly disagree with this, but if it were me and I had an egg like that that showed no progress for so long, I would pull a tiny bit of the shell out with tweezers in the cracked spot. To see if anything happens. Every time I’ve done it (only twice) the chick has been dead.

Could you candle it to see if there is any movement? I’m not sure if that would cause more damage though, might be best to just leave them in your incubator.

Filling a cup of water right now to float test the egg that has no cracks

It was floating low in the water and once it was still it didn't wiggle, per say but it was completely still the kind of rotated a little bit then spun slowly for a second til it naturally slowed down. I'm not really sure what any of that means though..
