Quail hatch. Follow along.

Today is day 15 for the 1st batch and day 5 for the second batch. Everything is going great! I candled all 16 eggs from the second batch to make sure I didn't miss any unfertile eggs, and all of them are growing exceptionally well all 16 are still good. I had one question though as the first batch will hatch in 8-10 days from now the second will be 10 days behind them and the third even further behind. Will the older chicks pick on the younger chicks? ( I have never had split hatches like this so I have never had chicks of different age) If so I have no problem with getting another brooder.
Most likely you will have problems. I would separate into 3 separate brooders, 1 for each hatch. Ten days is a long time between the 1st hatch and the second hatch. They would trample the newly hatched chicks and the third hatch would definitely be at a disadvantage if placed in a brooder with the former hatches.
Also, if each 'batch of eggs', do hatch, assuming they all do, only one brooder would be very cramped, no room for the chicks to move around at all with the feeders and waterers taking up a lot of the brooder space. 3 separate brooders is the way to go, with separate heat sources.

Thank you!

I'm updating today a little early because I won't have time to update at any other time today.
Today is day 16 for the first batch and day 6 for the second batch, all the eggs are looking good, humidity and temp is stable. All of the eggs in the second batch are are showing signs of development. All the eggs in the 1st batch are to dark to see into at this point, but I can see some movment. Overall everything is going good.

Hey all! Today is day 17 for first batch and day 7 for the second batch. All the eggs are doing great I had a little bit of humidity fluctuation. Other than that everything is going good. Again I appreciate you guys for following along and making me feel welcome in this community.

Great you're feeling welcome to the BYC community. We are all very happy you have been showing us you hatch along, I'm so excited to see them once they hatch and see them grow.
