Quail Hatching Help (Day 18)

I am 20 hours into day 18 and I have no texas a&m quial hatchlings yet. Should I unplug incubator at the 24-hour mark?

They all wont hatch the same day or the exact day you think. Did you candle them all before lock down?
If there was movement and all looked good. Keep the bator going with the higher humidity.
If there are no pippes you can also do a quick candle to check and see if there are any internal pippes and make sure there is still movement. I have quail that just hatched and they didnt peep and hatch until day 20.
And i have had some hatch day 21. ​

Hi,

Regrettably, I did not candle at day 15. I was about to but ended up just quickly taking eggs out of turner and putting them back in out of fear of losing eggs.

I think I may candle them one at a time...

Since I am dealing with quail eggs would floating be a better idea?

I cant help with that one i have never floated them. I just candle them in a very very dark room. I just hatched out 37 out and they are my 4th batch. And the mijority are Texas A&M. They are kinda a pain to candle some of them but never had any problem candleing the mass of them.
Hopefully the other two can chime in and help with the floating. ​

Are you counting the day you set them as day 1 or day 0? Most people count that as day1 but infact it's day 0. Check your humidity, make sure your in the 60 to 70% range. Don't open the bator if you have eggs that have pipped. If the humidity drops too low before they hatch, add more to bring it up but only after checking for pipped eggs. Use warm not hot water, it will bring the humidity up faster.
Some will hatch early, some late, the majority at about the same time.
Do not unplug the bator until day 23 or 24 as they may still hatch....if by day 24 and none have hatch, then it's safe to say that none will. HTH

I (some how) counted at day 0. Additionally, I added more water about an hour ago becuase I noticed all of it had dried up (I put in like 180MLS).
