Quail ill please look and comment

We have two maybe three quail who appear to have clogged sinuses, swollen eyes. We have them separated and being fed garlic mixed with egg and their feed.
What does this look like to you? What should i expect for healing time? I am assuming this is some sort of cold? Any ideas and helpful input are welcome!

That is not a cold!

You need to really get those quail to the vets ASAP, I've seen that before. I can't remember it, but its a type of disease they sometimes pick up from poultry.

Separate them from your healthy birds & put them in quarantine.

This could be serious. If any of them die, you would do well to have necropsy done. Private vets are very expensive. You should be able to locate a university or state vetinary or agricultural extension or such that is affordable or no cost. Hope everything turns out well.

That looks like coryza. Do you have chickens?

And you need to take at least one to the vet or call a livestock vet to your house. Poultry and fowl diseases are not to be taken lightly.

Yea, best to do something to diagnose the problem as soon as possible...

You also need to alert any of your neighbors that raise birds. If you live in the country make sure wild quail arent getting anywhere near yours. Really can't stress how serious poultry diseases are.

None of my neighbors raise birds.
I do have chickens, but they are separate.
Coryza is basically a cold....
Says i need streptomycyn...
They are my ten year old sons birds, he cannot afford a vet.

Coryza is fowl/poultry an infectious bacterial disease. Coryza in humans is a cold. Do you the birds nostril areas smell foul? Chickens often carry coryza and other poultry diseases and show no symptoms. This is most likely the source of your quail's infection. Biosecurity should be practiced between chickens and quail.

You may have cull them if the vet is not an option. Call and ask questions of poultry or livestock vet it might be cheaper than you think.

This doesn't look like Coryza. Coryza causes heavy mucus that flows out of the eyes, nasal cavities, the birds gasp for air and the bird will literally smell bad at the face.

I have seen this in a chicken hen I have. Her face swells right above the nostrils, just as your birds are. It looks like MG, or something similar. MG is a respiratory infection. Some Oxytetracycline in the water for 10 to 14 days will really help with MG. However they may always be carriers of it, the antibiotics will reduce most of the swelling and help to heal the sinus's.
