I have jumbo Coturnix quail on day 17 now it is my 2nd time hatching eggs. Last time everything went fine but this time it is not looking good.
I have about 5 eggs that have piped but have not made progress at all some are 24+ hours with no progress. I am worried because I took one of the eggs that was 48 hours piped and I found that it had died. My humidity is at 65 and temperature is at 99. My humidity before lockdown was at 50. I put them on lockdown at day 14.
I am really just wondering what I did wrong. Any ideas or feedback would be much appreciated.
Thanks so much!

Your lockdown humidity might be too low. I usually use a 70% + humidity to keep the eggs moist. When I have pipped eggs with no progress over 24hrs I usually pull off a bit of the shell and membrane where their beak is. They can usually do the rest. If under 24hrs I suggest you give them some time, hatching is extremely tiresome for the chicks and can take a heck of a long time so... be patient ;). Also lockdown on day 14 shouldn't be a problem but I usually set mine on day 15 or 14 1/2
