Hi I am incubating Coturnix for the first time and my incubator temp went to 106.. I dont think it was this high for more than a couple hours. are they gonna be dead?
Also im trying to candle the eggs to test fertility ..im afraid the temp keeps going too low when I open the incubator and close it again.. Oh my im such a worried Mama? HELP

Don't give up on them. Just because the bator was there doesn't mean the embryo temp reached that high in every egg.

Is you incubator still air or forced air? (does it have a fan)

I don't candle eggs unless I need space in the incubator, I dont like touching them even with clean hands and I don't like opening the door. You won't be able to see anything until day 8ish and often you can not see into cot eggs well enough to be sure. My candling when I do it consists of either the light shines through the egg(not fertile) or the egg is dark(fertile).

Just ride it out and you should get some kind of hatch.
