So lately I've been trying to determine the sex of my quail and today I decided to vent sex them and of the eight quail, I have one female and seven male! What should I do? I don't use artificial lighting so I haven't gotten a single egg. I want to breed so I can have more female but I want to incubate the quail eggs in march. Should I wait for that quail to lay an egg or two or should I buy quail eggs on eBay? Thank you for your help. :)
  2. I would get some more eggs. If you plan on a 50 % hatch rate on mailed eggs you may hit it about right, give or take.

What to do with the extra males? Do you like eating quail? [IMG]

Buy more eggs & put her with the best male. Seperate the two from the rest. To many males to one hen.
