Quail jumping randomly

Hello, I have some full grown quails that jump randomly. I will sit next to their cage, and they go on with whatever they are doing, and then they all jump. I didn’t do anything and there isn’t some thing loud. They do it a lot. Why? Thanks.

Are they jumping or flushing? If they're just jumping, that's normal. If they're flushing (trying to take flight), something is startling them.

They are flushing, I’m pretty sure. Their wings open and they jump. They are climbing over each other as well.

This is an odd question, but what do you wear when you're next to their cage? Mine go crazy if I wear orange (which I've only done on Hallowe'en).

My quail will sort of.. long hop, through their enclosure. They don't really open their wings for that. I assume they're just skipping about because it's a very different behaviour to the sudden upward flushing.
