I have button quail and I know they need around 12-14 hours of light to lay. Where I live, most of the year is under that. What should I do? Is there some special sort of light I can use?

I've used solar light bulbs, solar string lights, etc. I'm working on a new chicken coop right now, and I just finished stapling up the string lights in there. The lights aren't so much to keep them laying as to give me light to take care of them when the days are really short. If I wanted them to keep laying, though, I could have the lights stay on long enough for that.

I have another string that I'm going to put up in the greenhouse where I keep the quail too. Again, I like to give my ladies a break from laying (laying year round shortens their lifespans), but I want to be able to see and not have to wait until 9AM to feed and water them.

Thank you. And thank you for replying to many of my other threads, I'm just new to this and want everything to be perfect.
