quail lighting question...

Ok, so my japanese quail quit laying last week, I plan on lighting up their pen. for at least 2-3 xtra hrs a day. will they continue to lay thru fall and winter or how's it work?

With 14 to 16 hours of lighting you can get the birds to continue laying through winter.

I was going to use like an 18" floresant fixture for mine will that work quaillady?

thanks for the info.; I've got a small fluorescent light bulb set up, will keep you posted...

Several people use christmas lights, I don't think you'd need a fluorescent light fixture.

Would I really need a whole string of x-mas lights for 1 quad?

I guess that would be true I guess I was thinking they needed a certain kind of light.
