that sounds like a good idea but I reckon through the winter, give them a little break from laying because they distinguish the seasons by lighting AND most importantly, if they dont get a short break then it can shorten their life-span and make them tired.

Flourescent would be fine.. But they have a starting problem when its cold unless it has a cold start ballast.So it your in colder country beware of the potential problem...cva34
