A couple months ago I welcomed 2 bobwhite quail into my family. A boy and a girl. Once the weather started warming up, the female began laying eggs. This was just last week that she started. However, a few days ago I noticed that she is making sounds at night. It sounds like either a single sharp note or her "bobwhite" call but much quieter and softer. It goes on until late into the night. I've also caught her walking around her cage sometimes and she hasn't been sleeping next to the Male as often as she used to. During the day she paces and acts stressed out sometimes, she didnt used to act like this over the winter. I'm wondering if this is cause for concern, or if she is just acting different because she started laying eggs again? I didnt have this problem with the last pair I owned.
