Crowing
Hi all,
I’m Mae in Northern California. I currently have just coturnix quail, though in the past my family has had a variety of fowl. The quail in the current group number 56 until some of the males “go live on the farm” next month.
BYC is an awesome resource — I found it researching corrective measures for splay leg in quail chicks. My son got very attached to a chick (SmallBean) with severe splay leg and so there was nothing for it but to do all in our power to save her. (Honestly in the past I would have culled in a chick that bad.). Anyway, thanks to some very knowledgeable posters, SmallBean is alive and growing and able to walk well enough to get around. The other chick who had a less severe case completely resolved. Thank you again quail folks!
