quail nests

What do I need to put in for my quails for them to lay there eggs in. I have nesting boxes for my chickens do I need the same for the quail? P.S. I just bought some Jumbo Golden Coturnix! Can not wait for them to get here!!!

Mine didn't seem to use the nest we got for them. They pretty much drop their eggs where ever the choose.

Coturnix have barely any brooding or nesting instincts so pretty much whereever they are comfortable at the moment is where they will lay. Mine LOVE laying in a dust box though so if you want them to lay in a specific area offer thema dust box filled with dirt or sand they will love it and it will keep the eggs clean
