(1) Are you new to quail / when did you first get quail?
Came across quail when researching self sufficiency this summer. I grow veg but don't have room for hens, so I was delighted to learn about quail.
(2) How many quail do you have right now?
Currently have a trio and some three week old chicks.
(3) What breeds do you have?
Just the standard Japanese Coturnix.
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
After one hatch I'm now addicted to breeding and seeing how new chicks turn out. It's great for the kids to see the whole process too.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Knitting, gardening, video games and geeky stuff.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
Just me, husband, children and hamster in a little house in the Midlands, UK.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
