As to my previous post that my quail were ding every night one at a time with nothing changed except no more heat lamp provided and they seem to be doing well now.

The change is that I separated them into 3 different cages/boxes with 1 in two boxes and one in one box. Since I did this none have died. I did change their food about a week later to game high protein 28%. Apparently they were killing each other or there was one that was doing all the killing. I did grind off the tip of the beak thinking that they were pecking each other but not sure I ground off enough to make a difference.

Any other input is welcome.

Quail do attack and can kill each other in the brooder, especially if they are crowded in and warm. There is blood in the beak, so don't trim off too much. Babies can also have a hard time feeding without all of their beaks.

Glad you figured it out!
