Up to you. You asked for helps and advise, and people advised you how to sort out the problem with the quail. Why ask for advise if you don't want it?
I can tell you with certainty that what you have now done is just delayed the problem. In a few days the feather eating and bullying will start up again. I suspect they are young quail, and in a few more weeks the bullying will get much worse and you will end up with badly injured and bleeding quails, and they can even kill each other.
Keep the male and female pair together on their own. Rehome the other birds is you don't want the noise of them calling to each other. Its not that the male is missing them.. he is calling to mark his territory as he can hear them nearby.
They're ten months old, so not young at all. They've lived together happily their whole lives until the feather eating party's they had.
yes, I did ask for advice and I separated them for a week. He kept crowing all day and puffing his fat neck out. The female was confused, running back and forth.. so I put them back. Male is no longer eating feathers l stated. Female just sometimes.
I really think they were lacking something or maybe just a mental disorder I dunno. I know duos and trios are best but for these looney toons 5 in one it works.
If it happens again I'll separate for good. Don't worry, I will keep a watchful eye.
I appreciate your advise, thanks.
