Quail pecking heads

17  holy moly!!!

I'm afraid to say you need to figure out the sexes of them (there's tonnes of pics and vids if you just google).

Leave only 1 (yes ONE) male in with your girls. You need to remove the other boys.

The boys would be fighting, and it wont get any better unless you remove the boys. And there won't be any egg laying while everyone is so stressed.
Keep the boys together, rehome, nor process them.

Good luck!!!!
Yes I am also experiencing this with my Japanese quail and I’m trying to watch as they pick each other on the head to determine the males but I’m not sure if only the males are pecking

Adult quail are incredibly easy to vent sex. There are many in depth articles on the forum on the subject so I will offer the 'reader's digest' version here; Hold bird firmly, flip them over so you get a good look at their vent. Tiny "O" vent, cockerel or non-laying pullet. A mature cockerel will often sport a large, usually red, bulb at his vent, and a VERY GENTLE squeeze of the vent will produce a white foam. Some submissive males will lack the bulb but still produce the foam. A well defined "oval" vent indicates a laying hen.

Hello. I have 2 female coturnix quail who've been together for up to a year now. No fights what so ever. Now one has decided to peck and draw blood on the other. She keeps chasing her and the hurt one tries to fly away but can't. Should I separate (obvious that I should) or is this just being natural pecking order? Anything will help. Thank you!
