This is very silly but a serious inquiry!

We have 2 hens we hatched as a school project. They're 3 months old.

We now also have 2 roos from a friend who also hatched chicks at home, but had to move away.

We have noticed the hens have GIANT poops compared to the roos. It is VERY noticable and the size difference is vast!

They eat the same food. The only difference is that the girls drink a lot more water.

Any ideas on why the poop size is so different?

Probably because a 3 month old hen should be laying eggs, which would make the vent larger. Less constriction on the poo when it comes out, so it is more globby

I dont want to get into it myself, but how is the consistency of the poops?

Some of your quail might have cocci or worms or any number of internal parasites . . .

Just something to think about . . .
