if i feed my japanese quail on chick crumbs they get diarrohea- is that normal? so istopped feeding them that and feed them totally on millet,cuttlefish and bird grit-(cuttlefish and bird grit both seperate) isthis feed OK?

You need Game Bird Feed, they are not chickens. 24-30% protein diet is what they need. Try and see if you can get and Startina Game Bird Chow. If you can't try supplementing with some Mealworms.

I don't believe millet will harm them because I feed my quail seed leftovers (which includes millet) from my cockatiel as the occasional treat. As well as mealworms like Invision stated, you can also provided boiled egg or alfalfa sprouts for that extra protein boost until you can get the proper feed. Also don't forget that you need to limit how many mealworms each quail gets to around 6 - 10 per day.
