quail question

I have fourteen courtnix quail i believe three and maoe and the rest are female...my question is they are approximately 3 months old and are not laying i have them on game mantience food...i have open top boxes in there and still no one is laying and they are all on the ground...i live in Florida...Does any one have any suggestion of why they are not laying......

Are you absolutely sure they aren't laying at 3 months old? Mine were laying for two weeks before I knew it. They were on the ground also and I had put in some branches and pine shaving and pine needles and the eggs got buried. It took me stepping on one to realize they were laying. They were tiny and hard to see. I gathered almost 15 eggs..... Or maybe I wasn't paying enough attention

Mine never lay in their boxes, they lay them just wherever they want to, its wierd the way they do it....

Yeah check around in the shaving, mine always like to bury theirs, I seen them do it.
