Quail raised in a pasture pen?

I see it has been several years since you posted with a question about raising quail in a pasture pen so you should have a lot of experience by now. Did you ever give it a try? Do you still raise quail and if so, do you have any tips for someone just starting out? I have an old rabbit hutch similar to the one in your profile picture, but I also have a small fenced-in area inside my chicken run that would be relatively safe (maybe not from snakes, but from larger prey). Would that be a viable option or do they work better in cages?

NewsomeFarm hasn't been on BYC for almost 2 years.

Some people have had their quail die when exposed to chickens, some haven't, but it could be a risk. I would feel more secure tractoring them around, but they probably shouldn't see the same patch for 3-4 months in a rotation.
