Quail Recall Traps

I made mine and tried it out yesterday. I had 3 bobs escape when I was moving them. They are now back in the pen with the rest. Just go to where wire is sold and get a 2x2 piece of 1x1/2 in welded wire and mold it and if you don't have cage clips use wire to keep it together.

I just built a cage from the same wire. I have about 200 ft of it. I also made a smaller cage inside to hold the bait quail so it couldn't get out accidentally get out. Look at a pic of the ones for sale online. Its not hard. Wire should be about $2 a foot and 12 feet will do it. If you don't have cage clips and clip pliers and you are going to raise quail go ahead and get those. You will use them a lot. Make the cone at least 10 inches long and make sure the bottom is several inches up off the floor so the quail jump down when they enter or they will escape

They will not come back out of the cone as long as it is up off the floor so they jump down

Have you ever seen a minnow trap? Its the exact same concept as them just instead of a round cage make a Square cage then put a devider about a third of the cage. Put your cone in the larger section and use the smaller section for your call bird. Its sometimes hands to keep a small piece of wire that you can place over the funnel when your moving/catching your birds from it.
