Quail separating their own eggs

Has anyone seen this before?

I collected 8 eggs in a little nest for my broody quail, to see if she would follow through. Only the eggs were laid by her and her 3 sisters. I came in today to find them rolled around, paired off by their patterns!

Does this mean the broody one in question will only sit on her own eggs?

wow. That means quail really aren't blind .
I've never had a broody quail before and i can't believe how many people have broody quail.

I am not sure if she will continue to be broody, but she kept sitting on the eggs and refusing to give them up!

I know quail move them around but rarely sit on them. They will sit on eggs that aren't their own.

They generally sit on everyone's eggs.
