Quail stopped laying

Hi I'm new to this but I hatched quail June/July time. they started laying for a about a week then just stopped it was about October time I got told it was normal but I'm not sure. Is it normal for quail to stop laying? They are Japanese and tuxedo I only seen the 2 Japanese lay so I think I have 2girls 2 boys. I have put them in the aviary with the budgies now.
I'm quite new to quails and still learning. Thinking of hatching more next year but a different breed

I was thinking maybe of it being winter? Wasn't really sure as they stopped a while ago now

Yes. They stop laying once the days get shorter. Dont worry! Theyll start up again in spring. Oh and welcome to byc!

Yes, it happens when the birds don't get enough light. They require 12 to 14 hours on light to keep them laying. Caution raising quail is addictive...I started with 30 birds, we now have over 1,000 hens at Cresthill farms! You have been warned!
