Quail stuck inside egg - EMERGENCY!

We hatched 3 out of 12 Cortunix quail eggs (I'm not complaining

) and one more had pipped. We waited, and after a day, it hadn't pipped. I was a bit worried, so we researched our question (opening the shell for the chick) and it said sure, but be careful.

So we opened the top of the egg after a bit of an attempt, and the chick's foot was right next to it's head. It looked a bit deformed, but how would we know? So, I have two questions:

1) Was the foot next to the head a deformity or unusual?
2) Is there any hope for this chick?

they can be pretty squished up in the egg, and feet can end up next to the heads.
I would put a wet( hot water) paper towel over the egg and back in the bator and
see if it does anything else. A lot of times they are just resting and can take a lot of time to hatch. Is it peeping?

Thank you so much! It's not peeping, but it was before, and it opens it's mouth sometimes.

It's head is now out of the egg, and it's kicking with it's leg, but that's not helping much.

I feel so bad for it!

Also make sure your humidity stays up in your bator since you had it open.

I would let it be for at least a couple hours now and see if it gets itself out.

They struggle a lot of times... but usually get out eventually. I would walk
away for awhile or it will drive you nuts LOL

Probably not too much to lose by helping it out. I use a paintbrush and warm water to "unstick a chick" if the membranes are dried..that can be like shrink wrap. just be sure the egg membranes aren't bleeding when you work on it..if so..wait a while and break the shell a bit more..slowly. the foot next to the head is fine. make sure the nostrils are clear of the membrane so it can breathe and take your time.

It's almost out of the shell after we opened it a bit more, but it is having a bit of trouble and one of it's legs looks like it's bent a bit weirdly.
