Quail suddenly died. What could have happened? *pictures attached*

I had a quail hen who was 1 year old and she was doing fine and she was healthy and this morning she was dead. I don't know why or what happened. She was with another quail and he seems ok. I took him out of their cage and he's in another cage right now. I have another male who was in the other half of the cage and he has been separated for about a month. Should I put the two males together? they have been together before and they won't fight unless there's a hen with them. I will attach some pictures of the dead hen and her cage.

Any ideas about what could have happened would be helpful.

Should I put the quail she was with back in the same cage? I guess if it was a disease or something he's already been exposed...

Also quails live for 2-3 years right? So its not old age.

Sorry about your quail dying. Maybe @Kiki or other quail experts will chime in. Any time you lose a quail or other poultry, it is best to have your state poultry lab do a necropsy. Some people do a simple necropsy themselves to look for coccidiosis or other things that may be easy to spot.

I don't think I'm going to get a necropsy done just because of everything that's been happening recently but maybe I can do one myself. I didn't notice any signs of coccidiosis or anything she just died.

Could temperature have caused her to die? Its been around forty degrees f. for them and maybe sometimes getting into the high thirties at night and then around 60 during the day. It did snow a little two days ago but their cage is in a greenhouse so it wouldn't have affected them and it wouldn't have been any different from this winter.

I'm so sorry.
Unfortunately there's no way to tell why she died without a necropsy.

I highly doubt it was because of your temperature though.
